Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt will give their daughter a “normal” upbringing
During a recent virtual appearance on the Today show, Katherine Schwarzenegger revealed why she and her husband Chris Pratt will not show their 7-month-old daughter’s face in any of the photographs shared online. Katherine is the daughter of the famous couple Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and so, she knows what it is to be in the limelight since her childhood.
Although, the young author said that her parents tried to give her a normal upbringing, and that is exactly what Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt want to do for their little girl, Lyla Maria. She said, “I think that one of the greatest gifts that my parents ever gave me and my siblings is the gift of privacy and having a really normal upbringing, or as normal of an upbringing as possible,” she continued, “We were allowed to be our own people and have our own identity and kind of choose to step into whatever form of being public we wanted to when we felt comfortable. And I think that was such an incredible gift to have given us kids.”
She further said, “It’s something that’s really important to my husband and I to give to our kids and to be able to have that privacy, and not necessarily show as much of them on social media.”
Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt married each other in January 2019, after dating for almost 1 year. The couple shared the news of having a baby girl on March 10, 2020, and gave their girl a beautiful name ‘Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt’. Chris wrote while sharing a picture of the baby’s hand, “We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”
Schwarzenegger has continuously shared various pictures that included her daughter but has never revealed her face to the social media world till now. Katherine also shared her experience of motherhood with the host of the show, she said “She’s the best,” she continued, “… It’s just such a difference what a year can make, but it’s the best thing in the entire world. I love every minute of motherhood so far and I just feel really blessed and really lucky, cause she’s such a happy and easy baby.”
