Akshay Kumar’s ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, Sushant Singh’s ‘Dil Bechara’ Among The 10 Films To Release On Disney+Hotstar

More Treats!

Films like Gulabo Sitabo and Shakuntala Devi were recently premiered on the web and many others are likely to follow suit.

The nationwide lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic brought the entire entertainment business to a standstill. New projects were shelved, shooting was disrupted and the theatrical release of many films postponed. While cinema halls are gradually starting to open up, there is no guarantee if viewers will turn up to watch movies on the big screen. Given the looming uncertainty, producers are prudently opting to release their movies over OTT platforms.

Sources reveal that Disney+Hotstar would release around 10 big films digitally. Here’s the list of movies that will premiere via the streaming platform:

All eyes have been on this movie ever since its first poster came out. Akshay Kumar proves his versatility yet again as he plays the role of a transgender in the movie. It also stars Kiara Advani who has been on a roll since the success of her last two films. According to reports, the film is aiming for an Independence Day release.

The dark romantic thriller which marks Mahesh Bhatt’s comeback as a director was slated for a late March release but was pushed to July. It stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur along with the couple that starred in its prequel – Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt.

The much-awaited Indian adaptation of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ will also apparently take the OTT route.
