Can’t Get Enough Of Mary Elizabeth Winstead? Let’s Relive Some Of Her Best Movies

The actress leaves no stone unturned when it comes to her movies

“Scream Queen” Mary Elizabeth Winstead, known for her horror movies, has done a rather wide array of films. She started off in the industry as a teen in 1997 but catapulted to fame only in the 2010’s.

From Disney movies to eerie thrillers to working with Quentin Tarantino, Mary Elizabeth Winstead has done it all. So just like us if you too can’t get enough of her as the Huntress in ‘Birds of Prey’, we suggest without further ado let’s dive into the magic of some of her best movies till date!

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)

No, Mary Elizabeth Winstead did not have a very meaty role in this action thriller but it was a big project nonetheless. In case you missed it (which we doubt), Winstead played the role of John McClane’s daughter in the movie. The film was a huge success and opened many doors for the young actress.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010)

Who can forget Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World? After all, she was Scott’s love interest and the girl he had to fight seven evil exes for.

Even though Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of the graphic novel series was a box-office failure, it gave Mary Elizabeth Winstead one of the best roles of her career. With a bit of wry humour and wit, the actress literally brought her comic-book character to life.

Smashed (2012)

Winstead’s role as Kate Hannah, a recovering alcoholic, was much appreciated by critics. Our jaws dropped when she revealed she shot the film in just 19 days.

The actress gave her all to this character and perfectly portrayed a woman caught in a toxic marriage. The film starred Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul as Kate’s husband.

The Spectacular Now (2013)

Director James Ponsoldt and Mary Elizabeth Winstead reunited for another movie after Smashed. Although Spectacular Now has Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley as leads, it offered a small yet beautiful part to Winstead.

The film is based on the novel of the same name and is about a high schooler grappling with alcoholism. All the actors, no matter how big or small their role was, came together to make this film utterly beautiful and emotional.

Faults (2014)

Mary Elizabeth Winstead aced her role in Faults – director Riley Stearns’ debut film. The thriller drama revolves around Claire, a young woman who joins a mysterious new cult. The film touched upon a few heavy and dark themes but Winstead’s mature acting helped keep the film enigmatic yet grounded.

Apart from her, other cast members including Leland Orser and Chris Ellis delivered exceptional performances too.

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

We knew from the trailer itself that 10 Cloverfield Lane would be an interesting watch, and it completely lived up to our expectations.

The star performer of this gripping sci-fi thriller was none other than Winstead. She played Michelle, a woman trapped in an underground bunker with two men who claim the Earth has become uninhabitable. The role required her to be vulnerable but also strong, and the actress completely justified it. She was indeed the perfect choice for a role as demanding as this one!

Talking about these movies makes us want to watch them again! Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one actress who owns every character of hers. She has proven her prowess and versatility time and again, in not just these films but in many others as well!
