Dil Bechara Music Album: AR Rahman Weaves Magic With His Music

The music album is a true labour of love

Dil Bechara‘s music album came in a few days ago and it hits just the right chord with listeners. Music composer AR Rahman proved for the umpteenth time that his music comes straight from the heart and is meant to touch ours.

The Dil Bechara album is perfect for the fragile moment we’re all in post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and feels like a sweet tribute to him.

Here are 5 tracks from the music album that we’re listening on loop:

1. Dil Bechara

The title track has relatable millennial lyrics, crooning as it does about the “friendzone”. But the heartbeat of the song is AR Rahman, with his calm and soothing voice and music that leaves a lingering effect on you.

Parts of the track give off Nazrein Milana, Nazrein Churana (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na) vibes, but all in all, the song has the power to make you feel emotional while wanting to dance to it.

And its music video, featuring a dapper Sushant Singh Rajput and his effortless moves, makes the song even sweeter.

2. Taare Ginn

Taare Gin starts with Shreya Ghoshal and Mohit Chauhan singing breathlessly and sometimes even overlapping each other. But the tempo switches with the chorus and the song breaks into a beautiful melody. Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics like ‘ek haseen mazaa hai yeh, mazaa hai ya, sazaa hai yeh’ make the song all the more better.

The recently released music video of Taare Ginn perfectly captures what it is – a celebration of new love.

3. Friendzone

Friendzone is a peppy and fast-paced version of the title track Dil Bechara. The lyrics are the same, but AR Rahman completely changes the feel of the song and makes you want to jump around.

4. Main Tumhara

The most touching and soulful track in the Dil Bechara music album, Main Tumhara hits right in the feels. With Bhattacharya’s wordplay, Hriday Gattani’s voice, and some verses with Jonita Gandhi, the song is truly intoxicating.

From the mood of the song, The Fault In Our Stars fans can probably make out when it will appear (tearing down already).

5. Khulke Jeene Ka

No romance movie is complete without a touch of Arijit Singh. Khulke Jeene Ka has Arijit and Shashaa Tirupati singing in perfect harmony. It is a lively and feel-good song, and we can already imagine listening to it on road trips.

Dil Bechara, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, releases on 24 July on Disney+Hotstar.
