Dwayne Johnson’s big reveal of ‘Black Adam’ release date!

Dwayne Johnson recently revealed the latest DC feature, ‘Black Adam’ release date in a very innovative way. The American actor and retired professional wrestler took over Times Square to announce the release date for his movie featuring DC’s popular anti-hero.

‘Black Adam’ managed to get the release date of June 29, 2022, which was displayed on the billboards of Times Square, the commercial and cultural hub of New York City. Dwayne Johnson chose the day of the UCLA vs. Alabama NCAA tournament game to unveil the ‘Black Adam’ movie’s release date and made his announcement in the afternoon just before the game commenced.

The billboards of Times Square displayed “7.29.22” across them while the actor’s distorted voice declared, “The Hierarchy of Power in the DC Universe is about to Change.”

The actor also appeared in a short spot on TBS for ‘Black Adam’ and also took to Instagram and Twitter to post about the date of the film’s release.

The delay in filming the movie and Warner Bros.’ announcement

In 2020, the filming of the movie was postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic leading to much disappointment among the DC fans. However, they were in for a treat when Warner Bros. finally revealed their plans to begin the filming in April. Now after the announcement of the ‘Black Adam’ release date by Johnson, the fans are ecstatic and cannot keep calm! The studio has planned to begin filming for ‘Black Adam’ in Atlanta next month.

Who all will star in ‘Black Adam’?

Warner Bros. also revealed that former James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan is set to play Doctor Fate alongside Dwayne Johnson who will appear in the role of anti-hero Black Adam. Aldis Hodge will be seen in the role of Hawkman and Noah Centineo will play Atom Smasher along with Quintessa Swindell in the role of Cyclone.


The people involved in the making of the movie

The movie will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks productions will take on the production of the film along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo, according to Deadline. Scott Sheldon of FlynnPictureCo will also serve as EP. The latest draft of the movie has been written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani while Adam Sztykiel wrote the earlier draft.
