Emma Roberts’ Outfits In The Movie ‘Holidate’ Are Functional Yet All Fashion

A paradise for fashion lovers!

Fashion plays an important role in the ‘Holidate’

All of Emma Roberts’ super cute jackets, overcoats, and knits from ‘Holidate’ were sourced from some famous labels like Red Valentino, AlexaChung, Annie Bing, and Moschino. Her thanksgiving black embroidered sweater was from Moschino.

But it doesn’t mean that all the outfits were from famous labels. Some pieces were even vintage and secondhand. Her very famous leopard print coat is a vintage piece from Western Costume House.

Another piece that caught our attention was her collection of plaid coats. An oversized plaid coat is the best option to add an edge to the outfit.

The costume designer for ‘Holidate’, Helen Huang revealed that Emma Roberts’ style game is so on point that sometimes she gave the stylists some fun and quirky ideas. She even said it was Emma who introduced her to Citizens of Humanity Jeans. She says, ” I loved collaborating with Emma! We have a shared love of clothing that has a history to it. She was just so excited about all the vintage pieces and vibe it imparted to her character. Where many shy away from clothing that is too quirky or eccentric, Emma was fearless.”

From off-the-rack to bespoke, Emma Roberts’ outfits were from all over the places

Helen wanted to keep Emma’s character in the movie( Sloane) as relatable as possible. She says, “I wanted to emphasize that Sloane is not like every other rom-com girl– where she’s sad and then she’s happy, and she has two totally different wardrobes for each– because I feel like that’s not a real representation of women.” She further added, “Sloane has one closet. It’s not like she went out and brought a whole new wardrobe because she met Jackson, and that was important to me.”

In an interview with Insider Helen told, “Sloane is the type of character who might have a really great vintage T-shirt collection or a cool 1960s leopard coat, but she would still lounge around the house in her high school sweats.”

Helen also revealed some of the vintage stores that one must check-out when in Los Angeles. Foundation vintage, The Goods, Villains Vintage, Recess, Pass it on, Replica, and Raggedy threads are a few of them.

‘Holidate’ is now available on Netflix.
