Gerard Butler To Star In New Action-Thriller, ‘Remote Control’

Gerard Butler carries the baton of the badass action heroes into the 2020s. His action movies are always met with a lot of anticipation and excitement for the fans. The action superstar is all set to blow our minds yet again! In his latest venture, he’s going to be seen in the international action thriller, ‘Remote Control’.

Gerard Butler will be seen in the role of a former war correspondent turned security consultant.

The story of ‘Remote Control’ picks up pace when Butler’s character receives a phone call from an unknown source. Soon after the call, he finds himself deep in the web of an international conspiracy. A powerful shadow organization frames him as an international assassin. And the fight for his survival, thus, begins. Now that he has lost his old identity, he tries to find an ounce of compassion in the world, turning to his former lover, who, in turn, gets implicated in the conspiracy.

He’s coming off praises and laurels!

Earning rave reviews on the third installment of the ‘Fallen’ series, ‘Angel has Fallen’ Gerard Butler is already on sky high. Except that, he is awaiting the release of his next big picture, ‘Greenland’ alongside Morena Baccarin. ‘Greenland’ is a story of a family’s attempt at survival in the face of extreme natural adversities. And now with this one too bagged in his kitty, he’s one enviable figure right now.

STX secured the rights to the sales of the film

In a deal on Tuesday, STX secured the rights of the sale of the action-thriller. They will be introducing it to the buyers in the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival, opening Wednesday. STX Films Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson and Hyde Park Chairman and CEO, Ashok Amritraj announced on Tuesday about their relationship going forward. The movie will be produced by Hyde Park Entertainment Group, Eon Productions and G-Base.

Ace Cinematographer John Mathieson will be taking the director’s chair

Sitting behind the lens is something John Mathieson knows pretty well. But calling the shots will be a first for him. John’s works include cinematography on the cult hit ‘Gladiator’ and Gerard Butler’s own ‘Phantom of the Opera’. He received Oscar nominations for both of these.

When such a team is coming together, it is going to be an epic action tale. #Can’tWait
