Mads Mikkelsen will star in Indiana Jones 5 alongside Harrison Ford
Mads Mikkelsen has reportedly joined the cast of Indiana Jones 5, along with co-stars Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. However, Mads’ role in the film is not yet revealed and neither the storyline for the fifth instalment of this renowned film series. Harrison Ford will be respiring his role as an archaeologist and Phoebe’s role is also not revealed for now.
Mads Mikkelsen starrer Indiana Jones 5 will be produced by Steven Spielberg, whereas James Mangold will hold the position of director for this part of the series. The release date for the movie is set for July 2022, however, when the production of the film will begin is still a question.
Mads Mikkelsen, apart from joining the Indiana Jones 5 squad, has also landed a few other major roles, recently. Mads’ has replaced Johnny Depp in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ film as Gellert Grindewald. This happened when Depp left the franchise after losing a case against ‘The Sun newspaper’ who labelled him as a “wife-beater”, following his breakup with ex Amber Heard. On landing such a huge role, Mikkelsen said, “Well it’s going to be me, so that’s a difference. This is the tricky part. We’re still working it out. There has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I’m going to do. And at the same time, I also have to make it my own.” “But also we have to find a few links [to the previous version of the character] and some bridges so it doesn’t completely detach from what he’s already masterfully achieved,” he continued.
The 55-year-old ‘Casino Royale’ star does not stop here, Mads has recently also joined Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Doctor Strange, as well as the Star Wars franchise with ‘Rogue One’.
On Thursday, the makers released the trailer of Mads Mikkelsen’s latest film “Riders of Justice”, directed and written by Anders Thomas Jensen. In this action drama, Mads‘ plays the role of a soldier (Markus), recently deployed to Afghanistan who has to return back home after his wife’s tragic death to take care of their daughter. However, later, Markus starts to suspect that his wife was murdered and so he tries to find the truth. This year, Mikkelsen also played a role in Doug Liman’s “Chaos Walking“, along with Tom Holland, Demián Bichir and Daisy Ridley.
