The new “Deep Water” trailer is eerie to say the least
The film which is set to premiere on March 18, recently came out with the first look of its trailer. In this 2-minute nail-biting teaser, we get to follow the lives of a husband and wife.
Vic and Melinda is played by Affleck and De Armas respectively. From what we scrounged from the “Deep Water” trailer, the story follows a wife who loves to play games with her husband by flirting and sleeping together with other men. But there is something so inexplicably wrong with their marriage that goes beyond a seemingly toxic relationship. That is till someone actually ends up dead.
The movie will surely be hyping up the audience for several twists and turns throughout the course of the story. Is De Armas’ character truly in the wrong and is a raging psychopath? Or is the story something else altogether? To find out, we can only wait till March 18 when the movie comes out.
The cast and crew of the movie
Other than Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas, the movie also features Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, Dash Mihok, Finn Wittrock, Kristen Connolly, Jacob Elordi, Rachel Blanchard, Michael Braun, Jade Fernandez, Grace Jenkins, Brendan C. Miller, Devyn Tyler, and Jeff Pope.
The movie has been directed by Oscar nominee Adrian Lyne and is based on the mystery novel of the same name by popular author Patricia Highsmith. “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, and Zach Helm of Stranger Than Fiction are adapting the screenplay of the flick. Arnon Milchan, Guymon Casady, Benjamin Forkner, and Anthony Katagas are acting as producers.
A little bit on the film
The synopsis of the film reads, “The film centers on Vic and Melinda Van Allen, who are an attractive married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.”
