Chris Pratt is all set to begin shooting for Thor 4. The actor recently revealed that he’s heading to Australia next week to kickstart shooting for the film.
“I’m done acting,” Pratt quipped at first, but he then revealed his actual plans, telling viewers that he has not one, but two films in store!
“I’ve got Guardians coming up next year. And I’ve got Thor,” said Chris Pratt. “I’ll be in Thor in Australia, so I’ll be traveling to Australia in about a week.”
All about Chris Pratt’s Thor 4 role
Thor: Love and Thunder is being directed by Taika Waititi, the man behind the third installment, Thor: Ragnarok.
Hemsworth plays the titular role, Thor, while Bale and Portman star as Gorr the God Butcher and Jane Foster, respectively. The film will also have Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif.
Rumour is rife that Thor 4 will be a mini-Avengers film of sorts, with multiple MCU superheroes and heroines coming together. The makers wouldn’t be wrong in doing so, since movies with a team of superheroes do tend to perform better at the box office than solo ventures.
Meanwhile, it remains unclear how big Chris Pratt’s Thor 4 role will be. The 41-year-old actor plays Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the franchise, but whether the coming movie will see him in a major role or in a cameo remains unknown.
Pratt will also have to self-isolate for 14 days upon landing in Australia. That means he will only be able to begin filming by the end of January.
It does seem unlikely that the filmmakers would make Pratt go through all the trouble just for a short role. In other words, Chris Pratt’s Thor 4 role may be bigger and better than you think!
The scenes featuring Hemsworth’s Thor and Pratt’s Star-Lord were one of the high points of the previous Avengers films. It would be quite exciting to see more of their playful banter and to have the makers explore the duo’s relationship further.
Thor 4 is slated to release in theaters on May 6, 2022.
