Thor 4 Recent Cast Rumour Would Complete Ragnarok’s Incomplete Story

Is he really back?

All stories in the MCU are connected, where one character’s fate is often discovered in another film. Thor 4’s big cast is proof of the same as apart from characters from older Thor films like Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane, and of course, Chris Hemsworth as Thor. We also have a few Guardians of the Galaxy appearing in the film like Nebula, Drax, Mantis, and Star-Lord a.k.a. Quill. We will finally be getting to know what happened to them post Avengers: Endgame. But there is one character whose fate has been unknown since Thor: Ragnarok and looks like Thor 4 will solve the query.

Jeff Goldbum is a part of Thor 4

For quite some time now, rumours have been circulating that Ragnarok’s The Grandmaster, played by actor Jeff Goldblum, will be making an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder. And now, it seems that the rumours were indeed true after Goldblum was spotted with the film’s cast in Australia, where the production is still underway.

Last we saw Goldblum’s The Grandmaster, he had crash landed in his own planet, Sakaar, and found himself surrounded by everyone he had once exiled. We left him trying to sweet-talk and negotiate his way out of the situation and drastically failing as he faced his former subjects’ stony expressions.

Hopefully, his appearance in Thor 4 will close the loop and explain how (and if) he managed to escape that sticky situation at the end of Ragnarok or maybe he is now their prisoner. Anyway, he would be a great addition to the film and continue the streak of humor in the Thor films that director Taika Waititi had started with the last film in the series.

There are also other, “rumoured” characters as well

Goldblum is not the only highly plausible addition to the cast of Thor 4. Even though only the lead cast of the film has been announced, which includes Christian Bale’s villainous Gorr the Butcher, there are many actors who have been spotted with the cast of the film in Australia. For example, it is almost certain that Matt Damon is reprising his character of the dramatized version of Loki from Ragnarok. It is also rumoured that Melissa McCarthy has been signed on to play faux-Hela in the film. Then there has been the recent sighting of actor Russell Crowe with the cast. But neither their inclusion nor what characters they will play has been officially announced by Marvel Studios.

While the story of Thor 4 is also yet to be confirmed, it is known that it will closely follow the storyline of the Thor comics Jason Aaron, where the God of Thunder loses the ability to lift Mjolnir, and Jane Foster, who is suffering from cancer, becomes the new Thor. Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled to release across theatres on 6th May, 2022.
