The “Fast And Furious” Franchise will soon meet its end
As revealed by Vin Diesel last year, the “Fast and Furious” franchise will soon come to an end. The previous year, Vin and his group revealed that the decade-long saga will come to an end after 2 more movies following F9. The next installment of this franchise is Fast and Furious 9 which will soon hit the theatres later this month.
Now, in an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday, the 53-year-old actor has revealed why the makers have decided to end the Fast and Furious saga, “Every story deserves its own ending,” he said.
Vin also revealed that when he informed his daughter about the upcoming “Fast and Furious” franchise end, she began shedding tears, “I know people are going to feel like it doesn’t have to end, but I think all good things should,” he said. “There are reasons for a finale. I think this franchise has deserved it.”
Vin Diesel has been a part of this world-famous franchise as Dominic Toretto since the first movie “The Fast and Furious” released in 2001, and since then the franchise has won a lot of hearts. The last two films made $1 billion each. However, according to Vin, the saga might end but the Fast and Furious” cinematic universe will continue on.
Director Justin Lin, who has previously directed five of the franchise’s films including the latest F9, is back for directing the last two movies as well. Lin explains how the thought of the “Fast and Furious” franchise end came to their minds, “We got together and Vin says ’I think we should think about closing up the saga now,'” he said. “Nine is kind of the first film of the final chapter,” the director said. “We’re kind of reconfiguring everything so that the next two movies should wrap up this amazing journey for these characters.”
Vin Diesel further continued, “This franchise was born from the pavement, from the concrete,” he said. “The world just championed this underdog to a place where it has already surpassed all of these other franchises. But the franchise has a soul, and that soul has to rest.” However, before the end, there are two more spin-offs of the franchise in making, one of which will be a sequel to 2019’s “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” and another one will be women fronted spin-off.
In almost 2 decades since the Fast and Furious franchise was started, many actors have been a part of it including Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, rapper Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, the late Paul Walker, Johnson, and Statham. The franchise has been through various ups and downs, with one that hit everyone, be it the cast or the fans, pretty hard. The tragic and death of Paul Walker.
Recently, Tyrese Gibson, who plays the role of Paul’s character Brian’s childhood friend Roman, talked about how he struggled to finish Furious 7 after Walker’s sudden death. “I have more bad memories than good, because all of the fun and all of the magic that we had going before Paul Walker’s untimely death, the trauma of losing him superseded all of that,” Gibson tells in an interview on EW’s BINGE: The Fast Saga. “Once Furious 7 came out, it was hard to watch. So I definitely don’t have that one on repeat.” The pain of that incident will remain in every fan’s heart forever.
