Zack Snyder’s Justice League Trailer Debuts A Brand New Villain And A Shocking Death!

Ever since director Zack Snyder announced earlier in 2020 that fans’ years of campaigning to get the Snyder’s Cut of Justice League had finally borne fruits and led to its upcoming release on HBO Max, everyone had been eagerly waiting for its trailer. While that is still not happening, we have the next best thing handy- the first official teaser trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League the director premiered at the film’s DC FanDome panel. Made of all-new footage we get a new look at the villain Darkseid, meet Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West, get introduced to an entirely new villain and process a rather shocking death.

Set to Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” the trailer of Zack Snyder’s Justice League progresses with different members of the team coming together as evil looms on the horizon. If 2017’s Justice League left you disappointed by underutilizing Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and Darkseid you can rejoice for the Snyder cut has plenty of those with the promise that it is going to undo the criticism Justice League garnered three years ago.

We get to meet a new villain, Desaad, who is known throughout the DC Extended Universes because of his familiar dark hooded robe. And as for the shocking death we mentioned, brace yourself ‘cause halfway through Zack Snyder’s Justice League trailer Cyborg’s father, Silas Stone, dies when a Mother Box explodes beside him.

Prominently, the Justice League Snyder Cut trailer features moments and arcs that Snyder has teased for years which were never part of the theatrical release. As Snyder had earlier claimed at a fan-organized Justice Con, the trailer and similarly the film will not feature even a single frame or scene shot by Joss Whedon (he had been the one to reshoot many scenes of 2017 released Justice League after Snyder left the project).

Zack Snyder’s Justice League trailer speaks for itself- there are unseen scenes like Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) saving Iris West (Kiersey Clemons),  Victor Stone’s (Ray Fisher) football career before he became Cyborg, new footage showing a particularly ripped Darkseid, and Superman in his post-resurrection black suit. They are even shows battling against Steppenwolf and the Parademons while Snyder reveals that “Cyborg is the heart of the movie!”

In his panel, Snyder shared that his four-hour-long film will be released as four parts on HBO Max, each instalment running one hour.
