The highly-awaited music video of Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga’s “Rain On Me” has been released, much to the delight of the fans of the two pop queens. The iconic video song, the latest single in Lady Gaga’s upcoming sixth album Chromatica (due to release on 29th May), features the two superstars amidst a futuristic scenario, leading dance troupes in the pouring rain, and shaking a leg to the techno-pop track.
Lady Gaga’s “Rain On Me” begins with the Grammy-winning singer lying on the ground, dressed in a pink PVC and fishnet tights, with a knife in her thigh and a nail protruding from her face. Starting the song in her bold voice, Gaga then saunters off to present some of her killer dancing moves while a troupe of colorfully dressed dancers matching her moves in a post-apocalyptic background, while knives drop from the sky.
Lady Gaga is soon joined by Ariana Grande, in a purple latex dress and her signature high pony, dancing to her own troupe of futuristic dancers.
“I’d rather be dry but at least I’m alive,” the two sing in chorus, effortlessly syncing with the upbeat tune while matching each other’s moves in the Robert Rodriguez-directed video.
For the longest time, fans had been awaiting the music video of Lady Gaga’s “Rain On Me”, especially since she and Ariana Grande had been teasing the release of the song on social media, by posting snippets of its lyrics and pictures of them posing in futuristic outfits.
“I sat with her and we talked about our lives,” Lady Gaga shared back in March, talking about “Rain on Me” and her first collaboration with Ariana Grande. “It’s two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do.”
“Rain On Me” is the second song from her upcoming album Chromatica, which was originally scheduled to release worldwide on April 10, but was postponed owing to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. But there is no delaying its new release date i.e., 29th May nor will its subsequent Chromatica Ball Tour, scheduled to take off in Paris in July, face any postponing- it will continue as planned along with her Las Vegas residency shows.
“I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time,” she said back in March. “I promise you that when we can go out again, I’m going to make it SO MUCH FUN. I can’t wait to be dancing with you all!”
