Lady Gaga And Ariana Grande’s First Collab ‘Rain On Me’ Finally Gets A Release Date- May 22!

And Chromatica will be released soon as well!

Lady Gaga has been keeping fans on their toes after she unveiled her highly anticipated sixth album Chromatica’s tracklist, with one song, “Rain On Me”- her first collaboration with singer-songwriter Ariana Grande taking the limelight. And now, the pop superstars have released the date of the next Chromatica single- it is next week, on 22nd May, yay!

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande dropped the announcement on their social media handles, along with the cover art for the single, “Rain On Me”. The cover, sticking to the extra-terrestrial theme of the album, features an extraterrestrial Lady Gaga laying in a warm-toned cave wearing a sci-fi themed outfit, while Grande stands at the entrance.

On 28th February 2020, Lady Gaga dropped the lead single, “Stupid Love”, from her upcoming sixth album, Chromatica, which she later announced was scheduled to release on 10th April.

Following the announcement, rumors of Lady Gaga working with Ariana Grande for one of the songs in the album were spreading. The title of the song “Rain On Me” also leaked, with renewed doubts about the two pop stars working on it after Gaga shared with Paper magazine that she was busy creating a dance track, “celebration of all the tears”, with another female pop star.

“I sat with her and we talked about our lives. It’s two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do,” Gaga shared.

She soon unveiled the tracklist for her album, revealing the song titles, the rumours were confirmed as Ariana Grande too shared the announcement.

The album also features some amazing collaborations with Elton John and Blackpink. But owing to the coronavirus pandemic, Chromatica was postponed indefinitely.

“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic,” Gaga had shared at the time while relaying the news of the delay.

But the plans to release Chromatica, Lady Gaga’s first album since 2016’s Joanne, are back on track- following the release of “Rain On Me”, the album will be released in full on May 29.
