Scarlett Johansson Gets Slimed During Her MTV Movie Awards Speech By Husband

“What the f***?”

The Black Widow actress, Scarlett Johansson was accepting the Generation Award celebrating her contributions in film at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday, just when husband Colin Jost pulled off a prank.

Midway through Johansson’s acceptance speech, right before she gave fans a sneak peek of Black Widow, which she endearingly called “the culmination of 10 years of work,” the situation took a comic twist. Colin Jost popped up out of nowhere and pranked her by dumping green slime all over her.

“What the f***?” the actress said as Jost says with a smile, “MTV! ‘You got slimed!’ ” The actress then says, “That’s Nickelodeon!”

While Jost had fun pulling out the slimey prank at his wife, he attempted to clean up the mess he made and apologize, to no avail. “I’ll get a towel. … Love you,” he said.

“I’m very, very sorry,” said the Saturday Night Live star, who tied the knot with Johansson in October looking into the camera.

“Where did you even get this?” Johansson was quick to question Jost, to which he responded, “Amazon.”

Just before the slime hit her, during her virtual speech from home, Scarlett Johansson thanked her fans.”This award is made possible by all of you. And it’s because of that that it’s so meaningful to me,” she said holding the Golden Popcorn award.

Scarlett Johansson is the latest in a long line A-listers to be bestowed with the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards. The mom-of-one was given the special recognition, which has previously been bestowed on Jamie Foxx, Sandra Bullock, Will Smith, and Reese Witherspoon.

Johansson stars with Florence Pugh in Marvel Studios’ The Black Widow, which will premiere in theaters and on Disney+ with premiere access on July 9.

MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021

Joining Scarlett Johansson for special awards for their contributions to the film industry was Sacha Baron Cohen. While receiving the 2021 Comedic Genius Award during Sunday night’s ceremony, Cohen transformed into his iconic Borat character to accept the award, which was presented by Seth Rogen.

“Thank you Prince Harry. I’m very excited to be on this brand new music television channel. I’m very happy to be accepting this cup of gold teeth instead of Sacha Baron Cohen and will put it in our national museum along with national treasure we have confiscated from yous,” he joked as Borat.

After sharing some jokes with Ali G, the real Cohen stepped in to accept the award. “Thank you MTV. To the millions of fans out there who voted for me, I salute you,” the actor and comedian said. “This is yours, I’d be nothing without you. I’m so humbled by this. I’m just a human being creating complex nuanced characters.”
