All That We Know About Bridgerton Season 2 Cast

Undying anticipation is already buzzing around the new season, and something tells us that Bridgerton Season 2 is going to be equally exhilarating because this time “Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season” as conveyed by Lady Whistledown herself!

Read on to know more about the cast and the storylines that are eagerly awaited. Let’s Go!

Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma

Let us start with the new entrant in Bridgerton Season 2. Simone Ashley’s Character Kate Sharma is being described as– “Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.” Kate is going to be Lord Anthony’s love interest.

Actress Simone Ashley is a British actress of Indian descent with a Tamil background notable for her roles in S** Education and Because the Night. In a recent interview, the star opened up about her parents’ reaction towards her unconventional career choice and her decision to create her own path in the industry. Ashley said:

“You have to be your own hero and just go with your gut. My parents are incredibly protective over me, and sometimes I found it quite stifling. It made me want to escape and do things my own way. I’ve always been a bit rebellious in that sense.”

Well something (yet again!) tells us this couple will set the screens on fire! Of course you would have to tune into this space to see if we predicted correctly!

Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton

As per sources and the words of Lady Whistledown herself, Lord Anthony, the headstrong eldest son of the Bridgerton household, is all set to enter and obviously dominate the marriage market. In the first season, Anthony was seen as the protective (sometimes over!), sweet brother of Daphne Basset (now Bridgerton), the Duchess of Hastings.

In the first season, Anthony pursued opera singer Siena with all his heart. But after things could no longer work between the couple and Siena finding a new man for herself, Anthony decided that he will no further stall his duties as the eldest son and entered the marriage market.

Jonathan Bailey brings on board that perfect amount of level headedness along with stubborn, sometimes confused, tinge to the screens. Well something hints us that Lord Bridgerton’s debut is going to be one hell of a rollercoaster ride for the viewers.

Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington [Spoliers ahead]

The finale of the first installment halted at a point that left the audience rather athirst for Bridgerton Season 2. Just when the last episode is about to end, then lo and behold, we have the face of Lady Whistledown revealed! It’s Penelope Featherington.

When the season first started, Pen is portrayed as a very close friend to both Eloise and Marina but by the end of the series, she is revealed as the gossip queen of the ton! (Yeah we missed the hints too).

It will be a treat to watch the angle of witty intellect that Nicola Coughlan, who is notable for her work in Derry Girls and Harlots, brings to the character in Bridgerton Season 2. We would also have to wait for the season to drop to see if any romance brews between Pen and Colin or for that matter Pen and someone new!

Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton

Lord Anthony Bridgerton is not the only one entering the marriage market this coming season. The studious and ambitious Eloise is also ready to debut in Bridgerton Season 2. Claudia Jessie’s character shows no interest whatsoever in finding a suitable prospect or getting hitched because she is more interested in reading and gaining every drop of knowledge that she possibly can.

How Eloise fares this season and whether she finds a love match is a question that the upcoming installment will answer. It would surely be a delight to see her reaction when she figures out who Lady Whistledown actually is!

Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte

Golda Rosheuvel’s vibrant portrayal of the character of Queen Charlotte won many hearts. The queen, although looks like a tough lady from the outside, is a soft bean from the inside. She is full of life, passing occasional glances at the ones messing her course of plans. The Queen has an appreciative nature for good friendships and a fiery pair of eyes searching for Lady Whistledown! Golda Rosheuvel’s noteworthy stage credits include Porgy and BessMacbethThe Winter’s TaleRomeo and Juliet.

Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury

It is likely that the sophisticated aura that Lady Danbury, played by the immensely talented Adjoa Andoh, brought before the fans will return in Bridgerton Season 2. Adjoa Andoh’s Lady Danbury is like that aunt who has travelled all across the globe. All in all Lady Danbury is a ‘Boss Lady’ who protects her late best friend’s son with impeccable fierceness. She has displayed powerful performances in projects like Invictus and Casualty.

Regé-Jean Page as Simon Basset and Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Bridgerton

The Duke and Duchess of Hastings proved to be couple goals throughout the first season. Both started their relationship upon the foundation of a very strong friendship which even won the heart of Queen Charlotte. Although their story is likely to take a backseat making way for Anthony Bridgerton’s love story, it would be a feast for the eyes to watch them evolve in Bridgerton Season 2; from the space that they are currently in now, given the fact that now they have an added member aka the newborn little Basset.

More Cast Members

Of course, this list is not exhaustive(duh!). We have Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton whose heart got shattered after Marina Thompson played by Ruby Barker who masked her condition of pregnancy. While Colin went ahead to travel the world, Miss Thompson boarded the carriage along with the brother of her late lover, most probably to marry him (This will be answered in Bridgerton Season 2). Then we have the free spirit, Luke Thompson, as Benedict Bridgerton along with iconic Polly Walker as Lady Portia Featherington, Kathryn Drysdale as Madame Genevieve Delacroix– the high society modiste, Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton– the matriarch of Bridgerton home, and many more Ladies and gentlemen from the ton!

Bridgerton Season 2 Cast: Special Mention

Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown

Penelope Featherington has sure been revealed as the face of Lady Whistledown, but the curiosity-inducing voice that held the attention of viewers all through the first season is played by the very talented, Julie Andrews! The reel life Queen of Genovia and the real life Dame, Julie Andrews, is worth a special mention for the electrifying persona that she embodied through her voice.
