Friends Reunion Premiere Date, Celebrity Guest Stars And Trailer Revealed

Could we BE any more excited?

Stop what you’re doing because the Friends reunion premiere date has been revealed!

HBO Max, on Thursday, unveiled the air date of the special, along with a short teaser trailer. The teaser only shows the six cast members walking away from the camera and is practically good-for-nothing, but the news sure got fans jumping.

Here’s all you need to know.

When does the Friends reunion air and where can you watch it?

For the longest time, the Friends reunion did not have a premiere date to it and its filming was postponed time and again due to the coronavirus pandemic. But that’s all in the past now.

The special is finally coming out on HBO Max on May 27. That’s just two weeks from now!

As if this news wasn’t exciting enough, the streamer also revealed the full roster of guest stars who will grace the Friends reunion. Are you ready for it?

Of course, the event will bring together Jennifer AnistonCourteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.

But apart from them, Friends: The Reunion will also feature guest appearances by stars like BTSLady Gaga, David BeckhamJustin Bieber, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Maggie WheelerReese Witherspoon, Malala Yousafzai and more.

It just keeps getting better, right?

What will the special be like?

To be sure, this will be a reunion and not a reunion episode per se. It won’t exactly tell us what happened with Rachel, Ross, Joey, Monica, Chandler, and Phoebe after the 2004 episode. Instead, it’ll be a “real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show,” as HBO Max put it.

The actors won’t be reprising their roles or doing any scenes. However, David Schwimmer did reveal that one segment of the special will be scripted.

The actor appeared on the Graham Norton Show in April and was asked if he’ll play Ross in the special, to which he said no. He added that the actors will be themselves and won’t be in characters. “There is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something,” he teased.

Directed by Ben Winston, the reunion special was filmed on the sitcom’s original soundstage, Stage 24. It has been exec produced by the original Friends creators, Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.

Just two weeks to go!
