Robert Downey Jr., who immortalised Marvel’s Superhero Iron Man on the big screens, has probably decided to shift his focus to DC comics, albeit in a different role. Yes, what you read is right! The Hollywood superstar is all set to have a DC connect and the book that we are talking about is Sweet Tooth, which enjoys a pretty strong fan base already.
Robert Downey Jr. to produce Sweet Tooth
Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan will don the hat of producers for Sweet Tooth series, which will be aired on Netflix. It has been revealed that the live-action drama series will be eight episodes long with a duration of 60 minutes each. For the uninitiated, Sweet Tooth is based on the characters etched by Jeff Lemire, a veteran in the business, and the book narrates an endearing tale of Gus, who is partly deer and partly boy.
Highly promising cast & crew aboard
Robert Downey Jr. himself took to his Twitter page to make an official announcement regarding the project. American director and writer Jim Mickle, who is well-known for his movies like Mulberry Street and In The Shadow Of The Moon, will be helming Sweet Tooth series. The script will be penned by the director himself along with Beth Schwartz. Popular artists like Christian Conro, Nonso Arozie and Adeel Akhtar too will be a part of this flick.
Iron Man To Prevent Fan Wars?
Well, both DC and Marvel comics enjoy a solid fan following among the masses. While movies based on Marvel Comics have had the upper hand so far in theatres, it needs to be seen whether Sweet Tooth can probably change the tide, especially on Netflix. Importantly, it is none other than Marvel’s Iron Man who is set to present the lovable DC comic to the Netflix users. Only time will tell whether or not Marvel followers would go on to shower some love for Sweet Tooth, especially since Robert Downey Jr. has stepped in as the producer. Iron Man is indeed the right person to stop the unwanted fan wars.
