Loki Season 2 Has Reportedly Already Got The Green Light To Begin Development

More Loki is always welcome!

As of now, Marvel Studios has a packed slate of series that is going to debut on Disney+ starting from the upcoming WandaVision, followed by The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki as well as other much-anticipated projects that are still in production, like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, etc. But while most of them appear to be one season limited series, it has been reported that Loki Season 2 is already being developed.

WandaVision is scheduled to release on 15th January 2021 and kick off the MCU Phase IV with us witnessing the consequences of the suppressed trauma Wanda went through post Vision’s death. The series will be followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that will chronicle the journey of Sam and Bucky now that Captain America is no longer there to carry the burden of the shield or well being “America’s a**.”

While Loki is yet to get a premiere date, it is expected to release as soon as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wraps ups its six-episode run in the spring. But unlike its predecessors and the series that are hopefully going to be released in the latter half of the year, Loki Season 2 is reportedly already in the making.

As reported by Deadline, Loki series creator Michael Waldron has been roped in to pen the script of Kevin Feige’s upcoming, yet untitled Star Wars’ film. But the interesting part is that as per this brand new deal, Waldron will continue to assist the Marvel Studios with…Loki Season 2.

Though there is yet to be an official announcement about the same, we can expect Waldron, who has also penned Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, to be involved in its making in “some capacity”. The show has yet to be officially renewed for a second season, but it was reported in November that Disney and Marvel are planning to begin production on Loki Season 2 in January 2022.

Around the time the Disney+ series was first announced, all that was known about Loki was that it is going to depict the God of Mischief from 2012 who has undergone a change of heart and is still very much the notorious trickster. “He’s in a whole other set of challenges,” Tom Hiddleston had shared. “You’ve got his very specific gifts. His intelligence, his treachery, his mischief, his magic. And then seeing him come up against more formidable opponents, the like of which he has never seen or known…I wish I could tell you what happens, but I can’t.

Well, the trailer of Loki has cleared a few doubts about what this alternate version of Loki will be up for starters, we see him getting tangle with the Time Variance Authority, that monitors the multiverse and flaunting a “Vote Loki” pin that points to a 2016 satirical comics where the trickster contested to be the U.S. President. But only the complete Season 1 will tell what Loki Season 2 has in store for us.
