‘Survive’ Trailer: Sophie Turner To Make Her TV Comeback Battling Wolves And Avalanches In Upcoming Series

Sophie Turner is back!

Since Sophie Turner was 14, we had been accustomed to see her as Lady Of Winterfell, Sansa Stark in the popular period drama Game Of Thrones. And after a rather long hiatus from TV land, the 24-year-old will be soon back with a nerve-wracking show, Survive, whose trailer the actress dropped last night. To say that she is back with a bang would be a woeful understatement.

To be launched on Quibi, an upcoming American short-form mobile video platform, Survive stars Sophie Turner stars as a young woman who is leaving a group recovery home for “the broken, the sad, and the suffering.” Even as she smiles on the surface, she is a flurry of emotions inside- depression, thoughts of self-harm, and the decision to end her life as she boards a plane to go back to her home.

But fate works in mysterious ways and just is Jane is getting ready to choke down her various assortments of pills, the plane goes down, crashing into a remote mountain covered in knee-deep snow. Another passenger Paul (Corey Hawkins), who was assigned to meet her and ensure she reaches home, also manages to survive the crash with her, but the real challenge is yet to come. The pair has to face off the wilderness, hungry wolves, avalanches, and their personal traumas to survive and make it back to safety.

“I couldn’t be more honored to portray the role of Jane… She’s a complex character fighting against the odds not only to save her life but to also find her own source of strength and courage. I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need,” shared Sophie Turner, who has herself struggled with depression and body image insecurities for a better part of her life.

And it’s not just Sophie Turner and Hawkins’s impeccable portrayal of their characters stuck in mortal and psychological peril, but also the apt soundtrack and the impressive choreography (especially the crash scene) that ensnares the attention of the viewer.

Survive, based on the critically acclaimed Alex Morel’s novel of the same name, will be released on 6th April along with Quibi’s launch on the same day and will follow the “quick bites” of content format — episodes running 10 minutes or less.
