Cate Blanchett is the jury president for the Venice Film Festival 2020 and is leaving no stone unturned to set an example. Cate Blanchett, who is a known advocate of sustainable fashion, recycled some of her old outfits for the event, leaving us in awe. The actress looked stunning as ever while recreating fashion norms.
Here are some of her best looks from the Venice Film Festival!
Rocking White Menswear
The Ocean’s 8 actress wore an all white ensemble while arriving at the film festival on September 1.
Cate Blanchett reused the same outfit on September 6 but completely transformed the look with a sequin Giorgio Armani blazer.
Starry Starry Night
On September 2, Blanchett stepped out in a shimmery navy blue Esteban Cortázar gown. She first wore this dress back in 2015 for the London Film Festival premiere of Carol. It made us wonder, has Cate Blanchett even aged all those years? We think not, because the actress looked the same if not more gorgeous!
Blanchett’s long-time stylist, Elizabeth Stewart wrote that they’ll donate the gown for an auction via RAD (Red Carpet Advocacy) which benefits UN Women and Facing History and Ourselves.
A Floral Affair
The next day, Cate Blanchett recycled her 2016 BAFTA ensemble. She wore the finely designed floral top with a pair of black pants and high heels.
The top was originally a part of a dress designed by Alexander McQueen. But for the Venice Film Festival, Cate ditched the long skirt for a more chic look.
Monochrome all the way
The 51-year-old actress re-wore an Acne Studios tuxedo which she first sported at the Rome Film Festival in 2018. To switch things up a bit, she opted for a black buttoned shirt instead of a white one like she did last time.
Sustainable fashion at its best
A classic black dress never goes out of style and Cate Blanchett proved it! The star looked stunning in this Giorgio Armani Privé gown which she had previously worn at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
Cool and Comfy
Cate Blanchett is promoting sustainable fashion the right way! She looked uber cool in a blue tie-dyed jumpsuit by Triple RRR. The actress had sported the same outfit during the 2019 press junket for Where’d You Go, Bernadette.
Styling blazers to a T
Cate Blanchett and blazers can never go wrong. For Day 9 of the Venice Film Festival, Cate reused a chequered jacket she had first worn in 2018.
“It’s chic to repeat” is the new fashion mantra and Cate Blanchett is a trendsetter! Besides looking stylish as ever in these reused ensembles, the actress has also given us some major fashion inspiration to recycle our own outfits!
