Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi Mukherji, And More: 5 Times When Hollywood Celebs Embraced Ethnic Grace

We are in complete awe of these beautiful ladies

The Indian film and fashion industry have gained a lot of popularity in the West, so much so that it is now pretty common to find Hollywood celebs in desi attires. Indian designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi Mukherji, Ritu Kumar, Neeta Lulla, TarunTahiliani, are now popular names in the international circuit.

Off late, many Hollywood celebs have been seen donning traditional Indian clothes on red carpet events, press conferences, weddings, and more. Here are a few of our favorite Hollywood celebs that looked drop-dead gorgeous in their choice of Indian wear:

Oprah Winfrey

Talking about Hollywood celeb fashion, the actress, altruist, television producer, and the host of the famous talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” never ceases to amaze fans with her choices. She surprised fashion critics with a rather unusual customized black saree designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the 22nd-anniversary edition cover of the Elle India magazine. She completed her look with the 29.5-carat Zambian emerald and diamond earrings, which are a part of the designer’s heritage jewelry collection.

Naomi Campbell

When Hollywood supermodel, actresses, and social activist, Naomi Campbell visited Delhi in 2017, to be a part of a leadership summit, she chose to wear a stunning Manish Malhotra saree. She carried her intricately embroidered yellow and white saree with ease and grace and looked gorgeous as always.

Sophie Turner

While we are on the subject of Hollywood celeb fashion, we cannot miss the ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Sophie Turner’s red-hot Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfit. She wore the pretty lehenga at Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Sangeet ceremony in Udaipur. Looking ethereal in the heavily-embroidered red lehenga, she accessorized her look with a gold maang tikka and matching red-golden juttis.

Elizabeth Hurley

Last year, British model and actress, Liz Hurley visited Mumbai to attend an event titled ‘Help the Hathi’ for the charity, Elephant Family. Much like in the past, the 52-year-old actress chose to go down the saree route. Hurley wore a traditional Indian georgette saree intricately embellished with mukaish work. The metallic bindi and chunky earnings completed her look.

Karolina Kurkova

How can anyone forget the lavish Indian party Naomi Campbell threw for her billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin’s 50th birthday? Many celebs were seen in Indian attires at the party. The British supermodel and her friends wore traditional ethnic outfits designed by Manish Malhotra. Campbell’s friend and former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Karolina Kurkova also chose a pink saree from the ace designer. She completed the look with a necklace and a maang tikka.

Someone has rightly said, ‘Life isn’t perfect, but the outfit can be!’ We’re all in awe of these beautiful ladies and how they carried their Indian outfits with utmost grace and style. Which look is your favourite? Tell us in the comments below.
