All set to release on August 15th, Mission Mangal has been already generating a lot of buzz for being India’s first space film. While we are absolutely excited for the film, it’s actually something else that has been wowing up of late. For us, it’s Taapsee Pannu, draped in her fusion sarees for the promotions, who is the real MVP of the film.
Lately, Taapsee’s fashion scene is so on point that it’s practically impossible to leave it unnoticed. We aren’t exaggerating even a bit when we say that she has been quite a fashion inspiration at LEFTOye headquarters for a couple of weeks now. And why wouldn’t it be so? Just check out these fusion saree looks of Taapsee and let us know if you can even fathom disagreeing with us:
Taapsee draped in this Aapro label saree and swaying everyone away with her grace is where it all started for us. The colour blocking, the belt, the bandhej, the shirt blouse; what was not to love? One look at this ensemble and we knew it was going to stay with us for a while:
Another belted look followed soon enough and we were all lost in this printed Shivan and Naresh glory:
This quintessential Nikasha dhoti saree popped right when we thought it couldn’t get any better. However, it did and how!
We weren’t ready for the sleeveless denim-jacket-saree look, we won’t lie. We are glad it happened, we won’t deny it.
This Soup by Sougat Paul saree look is next level cool and we are glad that Indian designers are finally doing such constructive and innovation experiments with the humble saree.
This Tarun Tahiliani pre-draped saree had us thinking of cocktail parties and page 3 events. So classy!
Dipped in this gorgeous lilac hue, this Bloni Atelier saree is oh so breezy and trendy! Also, we cannot help but be amazed at how poetically it resonates with the actor’s personality. So Taapsee Pannu!
Next up is a hand block printed saree by Urvashi Kaur in all its earthy charms. We are in absolute awe of how this saree has been paired with a matching handwoven khadi jacket.
