Italian luxury brand of fashion and leather goods Gucci with its future-facing vision has debuted its environmentally conscious Off The Grid collection, born from the newly conceived Gucci Circular Lines initiative, which champions the practice of circular production. A sustainable project aiming to bring positive change to secure our future, promises to be mindful of the environmental impact of its products.
While sustainability stands at the heart of the brand’s vision, it also promotes gender-neutral fashion, which is the future of the industry.
The Gucci Off The Grid collection includes luggage, accessories, footwear, and ready-to-wear that highlights the use of recycled, organic, bio-based, and sustainably sourced materials. One of it being 100% regenerated nylon, which is created using ECONLY yarn that’s recycled from pre and post consumer waste.
To mark the collection’s release, the creative director and designer of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, called upon regular collaborator Harmony Korine to photograph the new campaign. Starring an ensemble cast of the most formidable A-listers Oscar-winning actress and activist Jane Fonda, Grammy-winning musician Lil Nas X, musicians King Princess and Miyavi, and environmentalist David de Rothschild, the campaign looks up to a greener future.
Set against a backdrop of skyscrapers, the campaign tells a story showcasing metropolitan dwellers taking a modest stand for the future of humankind.
“The collection is the result of teamwork; everybody brought something to it,” said Alessandro Michele. “And in the campaign, too, there is this idea of dialogue among people building something new. I imagined that we could build a treehouse in a city centre, all together, like kids playing in the park. Because all of us need to build this house or to find out that our planet exists, even where it seems it’s not there, or it’s far away.”
Let’s take a pledge to foster change and give back to the planet by encouraging sustainable fashion.
