From your showstopper to the side dish, no menu is complete without having a salad. If you thought it was just a filler to complete your table layout, then you need to think again. Just by giving your salads the right twist, you can have a complete meal that will not just be nutritious, but a treat that you will like to binge on again and again. And so, to help you out with some drool-worthy salad recipes, we are here to share with you four Thai recipes which will get you addicted in no time.

Som Tam or Raw Papaya Salad

One of the best and the easiest salad to make, Som Tam is a Thai staple that tops the chart. Delicious and loaded with nutrients, raw papaya is a superfood par excellence. While traditionally the dressing of this recipe required some hands on work to bring out the flavours, thanks to the technology that makes our job much easier.


For the Salad:

  • 1 medium sized green papaya, peeled and shredded
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and shredded
  • A handful of green beans, cut into 1’’ pieces
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Handful of chopped peanuts
  • ½ cup fresh chopped coriander 

For the dressing:

  • Juice of two lemons
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red chilli (sliced, seeds removed- as per taste)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar 


  1. In a food processor or blender, combine all the ingredients for salad dressing and process until the chilli leaves its colour.

2. In a bowl combine all the ingredients for the salad and toss well. Once combined, pour in the salad dressing and garnish with peanuts and coriander. 

Asian Noodle Salad In Peanut Dressing

A meal in itself, this flavourful recipe packed with the goodness of vegetables makes it the perfect summer salad when a long cooking session is never a part of the plan.


For the salad:

  • 150 gm egg noodles or noodles of your choice
  • 1 large carrot, thinly julienned
  • 2 cups red cabbage thinly sliced
  • 10 gm coriander
  • 2 onions sliced 
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

For Peanut Dressing:

  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp Sriracha sauce 


  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions and keep aside. 

2. In a bowl combine peanut butter, honey, sesame oil, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and Sriracha and pour over hot noodles.

3. Now toss in the chopped vegetables and binge in!

Thai Chicken Salad 

Gluten free and healthy, this Thai chicken salad is what dreams are made of. Flavoured with spicy ginger-lime dressing, the varied textures that this salad offers is what makes it even better.



  • Coconut oil 1 tbsp
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 500 gms boneless chicken breasts


  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp honey 
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 


  •  2 cups shredded red cabbage 
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 2 carrots grated
  • ¼ cup coriander + ¼ cup basil
  • ¼ cup cashews toasted and chopped


For the chicken:

  1. In a pan heat oil over a medium flame and saute onion and garlic until golden brown.
  2. Add chicken breasts and saute it until cooked.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper as per taste and keep aside.

For the dressing:

In a bowl whisk together lemon juice, fish sauce, ginger, honey, olive oil, and chilli flakes till well combined.


  1. Toss in all the vegetables together and shred the chicken breasts over it.

2. Pour over the dressing and garnish with chopped cashews. 

Thai Cucumber Salad 

One of the most inexpensive yet nutritional vegetables, the versatile nature of cucumber makes it go well with a number of sauces. And when we go the Asian style, this cucumber recipe is just what you need to watch out for.


For the Dressing:

  • 1 red chilli deseeded 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 clove chopped garlic 
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
  • Chopped coriander
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Handful of roasted and crushed peanuts

For the Salad:

2 cucumbers sliced in rings


In a bowl combine all the ingredients of the dressing and pour over cucumber rings. Garnish with roasted peanuts and dig in.
