Recipe: A delicious dessert made of milk with lotus seeds and garnished with nuts and cardamom.
Ingredients of Low Fat Makhana Kheer
1 Litre Milk
1/4 cup Makhana (puffed lotus seeds)
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Pistachios, chopped
2 tsp Almonds, chopped
1 tsp Green cardamom powder (optional)
How to Make Low Fat Makhana Kheer?
- In a vessel with depth, pour the milk, crush the makhana(s) (fox nut) into smaller pieces.
- Add them in the milk and let it heat at a low flame for about 1½ to 2 hours without a lid, till the seeds are soft, milk has boiled down.
- Add sugar or substitute (for instance, Honey) and stir for a few minutes.
- Add some cut pistachios, sliced almonds and a little bit of cardamom powder, stir well once again.
- And the best part?
