Did you know that the way you breathe can have a lot of impact on the shape of your jawline? Yes. Even though you may have not realized, most of us are mouth breathers. We relax our neckline, jaws, don’t use our nose and just breathe through our mouth. This is what weakens the muscles around our neck and jaw. Once the muscles are weak, the skin loses its tightness and affects the shape of your jawline.

The solution – start breathing through your nose. Consciously close your mouth, deep breathe through your nose while resting your bottom teeth on the upper teeth tightly. Try to press the posterior of your tongue against the roof of your mouth. This puts the right pressure on your jaw and neck muscles and tones them. It will need a little practice but it sure works.

The next jawline exercise is to place your fist under your chin. Assume it’s a table. Drive your chin into the table (fist) while applying enough pressure. Now open and close your jaw while maintaining the resistance and pressure of your fist. Practice this for a couple of minutes every day.

Chewing gum is also a perfect way to keep working on your jawline throughout the day. Find the chewiest gum and opt for a sugar-free option. You can also try these face yoga jawline exercises at home.
