Who runs the world? (Our B-town) Girls!
Our tinsel town divas were the first ones to get the festivity running. Spreading their love to their fans, Instagram saw Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Sonali Bendre and Ekta Kapoor sharing warm family memorabilia. Shetty posted a wholesome family photo – all adorned in blooming yellow, paying their respects to ‘Gannu Raja’ as she calls him.
She also highlighted the importance of being environmental conscious and told her fans that even though she is spiritual she would not compromise nature for it. You go, girl!
Ekta Kapoor too uploaded a video with her father Jitendra and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, thanking them for being the best guiding lights in her life, addressing them as her bosses. In the end, she pointed the camera towards Bappa and acknowledged that he is her ultimate Boss!

We saw Sonali Bendre, all healthy and happy again, sitting beside Lord Ganesha (we couldn’t help but eye the delicious plates of Modaks too!). She wrote in her caption, “Ganesh Chaturthi is one of my favourite festivals and I really missed celebrating it at home last year… Was part of the Aarti via FaceTime! I’m so glad to be back this year, healthier and stronger, celebrating with my family.” She too stressed upon the importance of an eco-friendly Ganesh idol. We are so glad the powerful actress is back after her battle with cancer.
The power of parivaar and pooja
Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar graced social media with a video of a Ganesh Pooja at his home. In it, we can see the power of the Ganesh Pooja and the warmth and devotion shared between his family members. Take a look at the beautiful video here:
Arjun Kapoor took to Twitter and Instagram and uploaded a nostalgic video where he talks about his mother and aunt and their love for Bappa. He points towards a portrait of his mother and aunt celebrating Ganpati nailed on the wall. He then went on to state that Ganesha was a diety always close to his mother, adding “She believed in it (Ganpati) and we have continued the legacy. I feel nice that we can continue something for my mother’s sake and I know how many people love Ganpati,” he added.

Even Bappa would like you to go eco-friendly!
Actress Dia Mirza stated the above statement in an informative post on Instagram. The former Miss India looks dazzling as she holds a reddish brown idol of Bappa made of eco-friendly materials. She spoke about the harmful effect of clay and plastic made idols on aquatic life and how switching to eco-friendly idols would help preserve nature. She then went on to add that we all have an equal responsibility in maintaining mother nature and urged her fans to go sustainable.
Vivek Oberoi shared similar sentiments as he made an appeal for using eco-friendly idols. A picture of him and his family on Instagram saw the caption “Let’s all do our bit for protecting our environment. Go green and say no to plastic. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”
Now that we know how our favourite Bollywood figures are spending Ganesh Chaturthi, we would like to know how are you planning to spend yours. Oh, and don’t forget to say – Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Laukar Ya!
